Upholding Human Rights

Story

I’m trekking to the Everest Base Camp in Feb/Mar 2017!

As part of this challenge, I’ll be trekking at high altitude for 11 days and pushing myself  to my limits with this adventure of a lifetime. At the same time, I’ll be speaking out against human rights abusers, helping to expose human rights injustices across the globe and raising much needed funds to protect vulnerable people and communities throughout the world.

The important part of this challenge is to raise $4,100 for Amnesty International Australia’s work defending human rights. Please help me to raise these vital funds.

"Each and every human is equal to his rights and dignity. Each and every human deserves fairness and justice. All human are born free.

Race, sex, religion, belief, social hierarchy, wealth or physical ability should not define a human as privileged or underprivileged before the rule of law. Each and every human should have access to transparent process of trial and judgement. But, in our present day human history, We observe indefinite imprisonment without a trial at Guantanamo Bay. We experience barbaric beheading by terrorists. We grow with traumatic imprisoned Palestine.

In Africa, a woman’s genital gets mutilated. In Syria, a child starves to death. In Europe, a refugee undergoes imprisonment. In Middle East, a homosexual escapes death sentence. In Russia, a salafi suffers harassment. In India, different cast lovers hang themselves. In China, an activist is tortured and imprisoned for life. In Bangladesh, political incarceration diminishes opposition parties. In Australia, aboriginal youths suffer social back drops for judicial and administrative process.

There are thousands more such examples of violation of human rights do not get to surface across main stream media.

I am a simple human being without much ability to change all of those. I understand Amnesty International plays a vital role upholding human rights. I want to support Amnesty International by being a part of this challenging trek of 11 days to the base camp of Mount Everest.

Like many, I also have challenging circumstances of recent termination of employment and rescheduling of possible marriage date due to this commitment. But, I believe human rights as a whole is greater than my personal self.

Combined efforts required to restore human rights of each and every human can metaphorically be represented by Mount Everest. It is a long journey up to the top of the mountain. But, with your help and support, We can at least strength the base of basic human rights.

Please donate generously."
